What are Crowns & Bridges?

Dental crowns and bridges are custom-fitted prosthetic devices that restore the appearance and function of damaged or missing teeth.

Crowns: Also known as caps, crowns are used to cover or “cap” a damaged tooth or cover an implant entirely. Crowns can be made from various materials, including porcelain, ceramic, and metal alloys, and are designed to blend seamlessly with your natural teeth.

Bridges: Bridges are used to fill the gap created by one or more missing teeth. A bridge is anchored on either side by crowns placed on natural teeth or implants and consists of one or more prosthetic teeth in between.

The Need for Single-Visit Dentistry

Traditional methods for placing crowns and bridges typically require multiple visits involving impressions, temporary crowns or bridges, and a waiting period while the permanent restoration is made in a dental lab. Single-visit dentistry streamlines this process, making it possible to complete your restoration from start to finish in just one appointment.

This approach is ideal for busy individuals or anyone who prefers to minimize their time in the dental chair while still receiving high-quality dental care.

Single Visit Dentistry Process at Kamakshi Dental

Our single-visit dentistry for crowns and bridges is facilitated by advanced CEREC (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics) technology or similar systems, which allows us to:

Digital Impressions

Begin with a digital scan of your mouth, eliminating the need for uncomfortable traditional impressions.

Design

The crown or bridge is designed in-office using sophisticated computer-aided design (CAD) software to ensure a precise fit and natural look.

On-site Fabrication

The restoration is then milled from a ceramic block right in our clinic using computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) technology. This process takes just minutes, not days.

Placement

The newly milled crown or bridge is fitted, adjusted if necessary, and then bonded to your tooth or implant, all within the same visit.

Benefits of Single Visit Dentistry for Crowns & Bridges:

  1. Efficiency: Complete your dental restoration in a single visit, saving you time and eliminating the need for temporary solutions.

  2. Comfort:Digital impressions are more comfortable and less invasive than traditional methods.

  3. Precision: Advanced imaging and on-site fabrication ensure a precise fit and aesthetically pleasing result.

  4. Convenience:Less time in the dental office means more time for you without compromising on the quality of care.
